KM-507-C Ball Joint Remover

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
3. Remove the outer tie rod nut.
4. Separate the tie rod end from the knuckle using the KM-507-C  (1).



5. Use paint in order to mark the position of the adjusting nut on the inner tie rod.
6. Loosen the adjusting nut.
7. Remove the outer tie rod end.

1. Position the adjusting nut on the inner tie rod.



2. Install the outer tie rod end to the inner tie rod.
3. Install the outer tie rod end to the knuckle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Install the outer tie rod nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

5. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
6. Inspect the vehicle. Refer to Preliminary Alignment Inspection and to Straight Ahead Inspection .
7. Measure the wheel alignment.
8. If necessary, adjust the front toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment .
9. Tighten the adjusting nut.

Tighten
Tighten the adjusting nut to 64 N·m (47 lb ft).
