Removal Procedure

    Caution: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Due to the small clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result in a damaged oil pickup unit.

  1. Remove the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  2. Remove the right side exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side.
  3. Unbolt the air conditioning compressor and position aside. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  4. Remove the air conditioning bracket bolts (1).

  5. Remove the engine mount to frame bolts (1).

    6. Object Number: 1710769 Size: SH

    Note: DO NOT raise and/or support the engine by the crankshaft balancer, or oil pan.

  6. Place an adjustable (screw type) jack to the tab (1) located on the engine block.

  7. Remove the engine mount to engine bolts (1).
  8. Using the adjustable jack, raise the engine slightly until there is enough clearance to remove the engine mount.

  9. Remove the engine mount (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the engine mount (1) to the engine.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine mount to engine nuts (1) and tighten to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
  3. Using the adjustable jack, lower the engine until the engine mount is sitting flush on the frame.
  4. Remove the adjustable jack from the engine block.

  5. Install the air conditioning compressor bracket bolts (1).
  6. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 1910692 Size: SH
  7. Install the engine mount to frame bolts (1) and tighten to 65 N·m (48 lb ft) starting with the middle bolt then either side bolt.
  8. Install the right side exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side.
  9. Install the front tire and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
