Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1243188 Size: SH
  1. Lower the midgate window.
  2. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  3. Open the midgate. If the latches will not operate using the midgate latch release switch, then release the midate latches manually. Refer to Opening the Midgate Without Electrical Power .
  4. Remove the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  5. Remove the midgate window run channel(s). Refer to Midgate Window Channel Replacement .
  6. Remove the screws retaining the latch to the midgate.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the midgate latch.
  8. Remove the latch from the midgate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1243188 Size: SH
  1. Install the midgate latch to the midgate.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the midgate latch.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the screws retaining the midgate latch to the midgate.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the midgate latch screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the midgate window run channel. Refer to Midgate Window Channel Replacement .
  5. Install the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  6. Install the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  7. Inspect the midgate window and latches for proper operation.
