Removal Procedure
- Lower the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the inline
connector from the sunroof electrical harness.
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the sunroof assembly from
the vehicle and place on a clean, prepared surface. Refer to
Sunroof Replacement
.
- Remove the sunroof drive motor. Refer to
Power Sunroof Motor Replacement
.
- Remove the screw that retains the module to the mounting bracket.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the module.
- Remove the module from the mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
Important: Ensure that the drive gear is fully indexed and seated to the drive
cables.
- Position the module to the mounting bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screw
that retains the module to the mounting bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the sunroof module screw to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the module.
- Install the drive motor to the sunroof assembly. Refer to
Power Sunroof Motor Replacement
.
- With the aid of an assistant, install the sunroof assembly to
the vehicle. Refer to
Sunroof Replacement
.
- Connect the inline connector on the sunroof electrical harness.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
