Removal Procedure

    Important: Do not remove the headliner.

  1. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 749612  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the sunroof harness electrical connector.
  4. Important: Do not remove the drain hoses.

  5. Disconnect the drain hoses from the sunroof assembly. Refer to the following procedures:
  6. •  Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement
    •  Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement

  7. Support the sunroof with an assistant.
  8. Remove the bolts that retain the sunroof assembly to the roof panel
  9. Remove the sunroof assembly from the vehicle and place on a clean, prepared surface with an assistant.
  10. Remove the drive motor from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .
  11. Remove the sunroof module from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Module Replacement .
  12. Remove the glass panel from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  13. Remove the sunshade from the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sunshade to the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .
  2. Install the glass panel to the sunroof assembly. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement .
  3. Install the sunroof module to the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Module Replacement .
  4. Install the drive motor to the sunroof assembly. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 749611  Size: SH
  6. Position the sunroof assembly to the vehicle with an assistant.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the bolts that retain the sunroof assembly to the roof panel.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).

  10. Connect the drain hoses to the sunroof assembly. Refer to the following procedures:

    •  Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement

  12. Connect the sunroof harness electrical connector.
  13. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
