J 22102 Seal Installer

1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
2. Remove the fan shrouds from the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
3. Remove the drive belt from the pulleys. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
4. Remove the crankshaft balancer from the crankshaft. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .

Important: Do not damage the front cover of the crankshaft sealing surface.

5. Use a screwdriver in order to pry out the front crankshaft seal.

Remove the crankshaft front oil seal from the engine front cover.

Tools Required

J 22102 Seal Installer

1. Apply clean engine oil to the lips of the front crankshaft seal.
2. Use the J 22102 to install the crankshaft front oil seal.
3. Install the crankshaft balancer to the crankshaft. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
4. Install the drive belts on the pulleys. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
5. Install the fan shrouds to the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
6. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
