Important: Ensure that the two-speed rear axle shift motor lever engages with the two speed rear axle shift fork (5).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the two-speed rear axle shift motor nuts (1) to 74 N·m
(55 lb ft).
6.1. | Remove the two-speed rear axle shift motor pipe plug (1) from the two speed rear axle shift motor filler hole. |
6.2. | Fill the two-speed rear axle shift motor with lubricant. |
6.3. | Ensure that the two speed rear axle shift motor lubricant is level with the bottom of the two-speed rear axle shift motor filler hole. |
6.4. | Install the two-speed rear axle shift motor pipe plug (1) into the two-speed rear axle shift motor filler hole. |
Tighten
Tighten the two-speed rear axle shift motor pipe plug (1) to
13 N·m (115 lb ft).
