Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement P/S Pump Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 394403  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt holding the positive battery cable junction block bracket to the power steering pump mounting bracket.
  5. Move the bracket with the wiring harness and the junction block aside.

  6. Object Number: 281151  Size: SH

    Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.

  7. Remove the mounting bolts for the air conditioning (A/C) compressor, if equipped.
  8. Move the A/C compressor aside and support.
  9. Remove the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  10. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.

  11. Object Number: 288829  Size: SH
  12. Remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump to the power steering pump mounting bracket. The power steering pump can remain on the engine.

  13. Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  14. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the power steering pump mounting bracket to the engine.
  15. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket off the stud and the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bracket bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the three bolts for the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bracket to power steering pump bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems with AC - Manual.

  9. Object Number: 394403  Size: SH
  10. Position the positive battery cable junction block bracket along with the wiring harness on the power steering pump mounting bracket.
  11. Install the junction block bracket bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the junction block bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  14. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  15. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.

Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Generator Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body and the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  6. Remove the bolt holding the bracket for the wiring harness and the A/C hose, if equipped from the generator mounting bracket.

  7. Object Number: 316440  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolt holding the heater hose bracket to the generator mounting bracket.
  9. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement
  11. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  12. Object Number: 196643  Size: SH
  13. Remove the two bolts and the nut holding the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
  14. Slide the generator mounting bracket off of the stud.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the generator mounting bracket on the stud.

  7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  9. Install the bolt holding the heater hose bracket to the generator mounting bracket.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the heater hose bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the bolt holding the bracket for wiring harness and the A/C hose, if equipped to the generator mounting bracket.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the wiring harness bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  14. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  15. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body and the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
