Removal Procedure
- Remove the grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant
Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the refrigerant
hose from the condenser. Refer to
Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
.
- Remove the evaporator pipe from the condenser. Refer to
Evaporator Tube Replacement
.
- Remove the power steering cooler from the radiator support brackets.
Refer to
Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement
in Power Steering Systems (PSS).
- Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to
Fan Shroud Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the hood latch support to upper radiator support bolts.
- Remove the remaining condenser mounting bolts.
- Remove the condenser mounting bolts.
- Tilt the top of the hood latch support bracket forward enough
in order to slide the condenser out.
Ensure that you do not damage the condenser.
- Remove the condenser.
Installation Procedure
- Install the condenser.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the condenser
mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in)
- Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support brackets.

- Install the hood latch support to upper radiator support bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in)
- Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to
Fan Shroud Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Install the evaporator pipe to the condenser. Refer to
Evaporator Tube Replacement
.
- Install the refrigerant
hose to the condenser. Refer to
Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
.
- Recharge the A/C system. Refer toRefrigerant
Recovery and Recharging
.
- Install the grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
