Removal Procedure
Tools Required:
J 39232 Wiper Transmission
Separator
- Remove the wiper arms.

Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the four bolts and the reinforcement panel.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector from the wiper motor.
- Remove the two bolts from
the wiper transmission assembly.
- Remove the wiper transmission assembly from the vehicle
- Remove the drive link
from the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39232
.
- Remove the two bolts retaining
the wiper motor.
- Remove the wiper motor from the wiper transmission assembly.
Installation Procedure
Tools Required:
J 39529 Wiper Transmission
Installer
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the wiper motor
onto the wiper transmission assembly with the two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the two bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the drive link
onto the wiper motor crank arm with the J 39529
.
- Install the wiper transmission
assembly on the vehicle with the two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the two bolts to 9 N·m (7 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical
connector to the wiper motor .
- Install the reinforcement
panel with the four bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the four bolts to 9 N·m (7 lb ft).
- Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
.
- Install the wiper arms. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
