Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Turn ignition ON, engine OFF.
  2. Connect a test light (backprobe) from terminal E5 of connector C201C to ground.
  3. Move the wiper/washer switch to the MIST and LO positions while backprobing.

Is the test light on in both positions?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Measure the voltage (backprobe) from terminal E8 of connector C201C to ground using a DMM.
  3. Move the wiper/washer switch to the MIST and LO positions while backprobing.

Is the voltage within the specified value in both positions?

10.5-15 V

Go to Step 5

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Connect the test light from terminal E of the windshield wiper motor connector to ground.
  2. Move the wiper/washer switch to the MIST and LO positions while backprobing.

Is the test light on in both positions?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 112 between the switch and the motor.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Measure the voltage from wiper motor connector terminal D to ground using a DMM.
  2. Move the wiper/washer switch to the MIST and LO positions.

Is the voltage within the specified value in both positions?

10.5-15 V

Go to Step 8

Replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 113 between the switch and the motor.
