Did you perform the Cruise Control System Check?

  1. Disconnect the cruise control module electrical connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Move the cruise control switch to the ON position.
  4. Connect a test lamp from cavity C of CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) to ground.
  5. Press and hold the RESUME/ACCEL switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Inspect the cruise control module for a faulty connection.

Are the connections OK?

Go to Step 7

Repair or clean the connections as necessary. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for an open in CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) between the cruise control module and the cruise control switch.

Is the circuit OK?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) between the cruise control module and the cruise control switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs

Is the repair complete?

Replace the cruise control module. Refer to Cruise Control Module Replacement

Replace the Multifunction Switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle
