Do the wipers operate at any speed when the wiper switch is in the HI position?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the wiper switch to the HI position.
  3. Using a test lamp, backprobe from wiper/washer switch connector C211, terminal E3, to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

  1. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  2. Connect the test lamp from the wiper motor connector, terminal D to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Inspect the wiper motor assembly for poor connections.

Did you find any poor connections?

Repair the poor connections. Refer to Connector Repairs

Is the repair complete?

Replace the wiper motor assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Replace the wiper switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

Inspect the wiper/washer switch connector for poor connections.

Did you find a poor connection?

Repair the poor connection. Refer to Connector Repairs .
