Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement Upper

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.

  2. Object Number: 48314  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fan upper shroud bolts.
  4. Remove the fan upper shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 48314  Size: SH
  1. Install the fan upper shroud.
  2. Install the upper shroud bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the upper shroud bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.
  2. Remove the upper shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 48316  Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower shroud.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 48316  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower shroud.
  2. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  3. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.
