Did you perform the radio/audio system check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the speaker connector.
  3. With a digital multimeter (DMM)J 39200 , measure the resistance of the speaker.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the radio or the sub-woofer amplifier supplying the inoperative speaker.
  2. With a DMMJ 39200 , measure the resistance at the inoperative speaker connector from cavity A to ground.

Is the resistance infinite?

With a DMMJ 39200 , measure the resistance at the speaker from cavity B to ground.

Is the resistance infinite?

Go to Step 5

Use a DMMJ 39200 in order to check both speaker feed wires for continuity between the speaker and the radio or sub-woofer amplifier.

Does continuity exist?

--

Go to Step 9

Replace the speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement , Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement , Front Upper Speaker Replacement or Rear Pillar Speaker Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in the speaker feed circuit.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the speaker feed circuit.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
  2. Send in radio for repair.
