Removal Procedure
- Remove the trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the lock control. Refer to
Sliding Door Lock Replacement
.
- Remove the lock rods from the handle (1).
- Remove the outside handle nuts (2).
- Remove the outside handle
and gasket from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outside handle
and gasket to the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the outside
handle nuts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 6 N·m (50 lb in).
- Install the lock rods to the handle (1).
- Install the lock control. Refer to
Sliding Door Lock Replacement

- Install the water deflector. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement

- Install the trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
