Rear Seat Back Cushion Hinge Replacement YC5 and YC6
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the seat hinge trim. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Hinge Trim Replacement - Right Side
.
Important: Note the position and the length of the bolts removed. This will assist
with reassembly.
- Remove the bolts retaining the hinge to the seat back frame and the
seat cushion frame.
- Remove the latch release cable from the hinge.
- Remove the hinge from the seat.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hinge to the seat.
- Install the latch release cable to the hinge.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
retaining the hinge to the seat back frame and the seat cushion frame in the
locations noted during disassembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the rear seat hinge trim. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Hinge Trim Replacement - Right Side
.
- Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
.
Rear Seat Back Cushion Hinge Replacement YC7
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat from the vehicle. Refer to
Rear Bench Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the carpet covering the center of the seat cushion frame
along the rear edge of the seat , near the inner hinge.
Important: Note the position of the hog rings for reassembly.
- Remove the hog rings retaining the carpet to the frame.
Important: Note the position and length of the bolts removed. This will assist
with reassembly.
- Remove the bolt retaining the inner hinge to the seat cushion frame.
- Remove the hook-and-loop fastener at the rear corner of the seat
cushion trim cover.
- Remove the hog rings retaining the trim cover to the seat cushion
frame along the side of the seat cover.
• | Remove only as many hog rings as necessary to gain access to the
hinge mounting bolts on the seat cushion frame. |
• | Note the locations of the hog rings removed. This will assist
with reassembly. |

- Remove the bolts retaining the hinge to the seat cushion frame.
- Remove the seat back and
the hinges from the seat assembly.
- Remove the armrests. Refer to
Rear Seat Armrest Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts retaining the hinges to the seat back frame.
- Remove the hinges from the seat back.

the hinge to the seat cushion frame in the locations noted during disassembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the hog rings retaining the trim cover to the seat cushion
frame along the side of the seat cushion in the locations noted during disassembly.
- Connect the hook-and-loop fastener at the rear corner of the seat
cushion trim cover.
- Install the bolt retaining the inner hinge to the seat cushion
frame.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the carpet covering the center of the seat cushion frame
along the rear edge of the seat, near the inner hinge.
- Install the hog rings in the locations noted during disassembly.
- Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to
