Remove the J-clip on the side of the seat containing the seat back hinge.
2.2. | Remove the J-clip retaining the cover to the carpet on the back of the seat on the side of the seat containing the hinge. |
Important: Note the position and length of all the bolts removed. This will assist with reassembly.

Important: Handle the seat carefully when just one side of the seat back is attached to the seat cushion. Improper handling may damage the seat back hinge or the lumbar support cable.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the bolts in the locations noted during disassembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Install the bolts in the locations from which they were removed, as noted during disassembly.

Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
