Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement AC

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 179249  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in engine cooling.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  3. Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.

  4. Remove the mounting bolts for the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC.
  5. Move the compressor aside and support.
  6. Remove the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  7. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement in Steering.

  8. Object Number: 288829  Size: SH
  9. Remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump to the accessory mounting bracket.

  10. Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  11. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the accessory mounting bracket to the engine.
  12. Slide the bracket off the stud and power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188295  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Slide the bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
  2. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the three bolts for the power steering pump.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement in Steering.
  7. Install the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC.
  8. Install the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  9. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechancial.
  10. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.

Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Generator

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in engine electrical.
  2. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  5. Object Number: 340790  Size: SH
  6. Remove the wire harness bracket from the generator mounting bracket.
  7. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechancial.
  8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechancial.

  9. Object Number: 196643  Size: SH
  10. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the generator bracket to the engine.
  11. Slide the accessory mounting bracket off of the stud.

Installation Procedure

  2. Instal the three bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement in Engine Mechancial.
  5. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  6. Object Number: 340790  Size: SH
  7. Install the wire harness bracket to the generator mounting bracket. .
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  9. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. Install the drive belt. Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechancial.
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in engine electrical.
  12. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
