Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 69008  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the batteries.
  2. • For the front battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
    • For the auxiliary battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  3. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Body and Accessories.
  4. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands.
  5. Remove the starter from the vehicle. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
  6. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
  7. Remove the flywheel from the crankshaft.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 69008  Size: SH
  1. Install the flywheel to the crankshaft.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the flywheel bolts to the crankshaft.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 90 N·m (65 lb ft).

  5. Install the transmission to the vehicle. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
  6. Install the starter to the engine block. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  7. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the engine cover to the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Body and Accessories.
  9. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries.
  10. • For the front battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
    • For the auxiliary battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
