Caution: Floor jack must remain under the lower control arm during removal and installation to retain the lower control arm in position. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
Notice:
• Avoid pounding the bolts or any excessive force when installing
the control arm to the frame. • Always inspect the frame attachment hole for elongation
greater than 1 mm clearance around the bolt in any direction at any
location. If 1 mm gap or other evidence of damage is detected, repair
the frame as required. Refer to Structural Body Repair and Dimensions.
Important: The pivot bolts must be installed in the proper direction.
The nuts must be tightened with the control arm at Z height. Refer to Trim Height Inspection in Suspension General Diagnosis.Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 155 N·m (115 lb ft).
