Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe from wiper/washer switch connector C211, terminal E4, to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the wiper switch to HI.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe from wiper/washer switch connector C211, terminal E3, to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
  2. Connect the test lamp from the wiper motor connector, terminal D, to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Connect the test lamp from the wiper motor connector, terminal C, to terminal B.

Did the test lamp light?

Inspect the wiper motor assembly terminals for poor connection.

Did you find a poor connection?

Repair the poor connection. Refer to Connector Repairs .

Inspect the FRT WPR fuse 17.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Replace the fuse.
  2. Inspect the related circuits for a short to ground. Which circuits to inspect depends upon whether the fuse opens before or after you operate the system.

Repair the short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Inspect wiper/washer switch connector C211, terminal E3 and terminal E4, for a poor connection.

Did you find a poor connection?

Replace the wiper switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

Repair the open or poor connection in CKT 92 between the wiper/washer switch and the wiper motor assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
