Center Intake Manifold Replacement LBZ, LLY

1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement .



2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve cooler tube. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement .
3. Remove the intake manifold tube by prying the tube out of the center intake manifold dowel pin.
4. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .



5. Remove the center intake manifold bolts/nuts.
6. Pull-up the center intake manifold in order to remove.
7. Remove and discard the gaskets.
8. Clean the center intake manifold in cleaning solvent and air dry.

1. Install NEW center intake manifold gaskets.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the center intake manifold.
3. Install the center intake manifold bolts/nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts/nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
5. Inspect the 2 O-rings on the manifold tube. Replace if damaged.



6. Install the intake manifold tube over the dowel pin.
7. Install the EGR valve cooler tube. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement .
8. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement .

Center Intake Manifold Replacement LMM

1. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor No. 2.



3. Remove 6 center intake manifold bolts (1).
4. Remove 2 center intake manifold nuts (2).
5. Remove the center intake manifold.
6. Remove and discard the center intake manifold gaskets.
7. If replacing the center intake manifold, remove the IAT sensor. Refer to Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor 2 Replacement .

1. If the center intake manifold was replaced, install the IAT sensor No. 2. Refer to Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor 2 Replacement .
2. Install NEW center intake manifold gaskets to the intake.
3. Install the center intake manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Important: The center intake manifold lower nuts MUST be installed and tightened first.

4. Install the center intake manifold lower 2 nuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

5. Install the center intake manifold upper 6 bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the IAT sensor No. 2.
7. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
