Diagnostic Instructions
DTC Descriptor
DTC P2463: Diesel Particulate Filter Soot Accumulation
Circuit/System Description
The diesel particulate fuel (DPF) differential pressure sensor is established to detect difference in press in DPF. The engine control module (ECM) always detects differential pressure in DPF with the DPF differential pressure sensor installed in DPF front
and back and detects quantity of sedimentation of PM.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | The battery voltage is between 10-16 volts. |
• | The ignition switch is ON for longer than 2 seconds. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM detects that the diesel particulate filter differential pressure status is abnormal condition. The DPF status is abnormal.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P2463 is a Type A DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P2463 is a Type A DTC.
Diagnostic Aids
An incorrectly installed DPF differential pressure sensor will cause this DTC to set.

Circuit/System Verification
Verify the integrity of the engine exhaust system by inspecting for the following conditions:
• | Loose or improper installation |
Circuit/System Testing
Important: You must perform the Circuit/System Verification before proceeding with Circuit/System Testing.
- Ignition OFF, inspect the DPF filter.
⇒ | If broken, clogged, or melted condition is detected, replace the DPF filter. |
- Ignition ON for longer than 30 seconds, learning the 0 position of DPF differential pressure.
- Command the DPF regeneration with a scan tool. Perform the DPF regeneration.
- Clean the DPF filter with an Ash Cleaner.
- Start the engine and operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records.
⇒ | If detect the DTC, replace the control module. |
