Removal Procedure
- Raise the window to the full up position.
- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the lock rods (2) from the lock
(6).
- Remove the top nut off the rear run channel. from the door.
- Remove the nuts (8) and the bracket (7) that retain the outside door
handle (1) to the door.
- Remove the outside door handle (1) from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the outside door handle (1) to
the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts (8) and the bracket (7) in order to retain the handle (1)
to the door.
- Install the nuts (8) that retain the outside door handle (1) to the door.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the top nut on the rear run channel.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the lock rods (2) to the lock (6).
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

- Install the front door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
