Front Bumper Replacement Base
Removal Procedure
- Remove the grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the bolts and washers
that attach the bumper to the brace .
- Remove the bolts and washers that attach the bumper to the bracket.
- Remove the bumper from
the vehicle.
- Remove the guards (6, 7) from the bumper, if equipped.
- Remove the air deflector (8) from the bumper, if equipped.

Installation Procedure
- Install the air deflector to the bumper. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the guards (6,
7) to the bumper with the nuts, if equipped.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the bumper to the vehicle.
- Install the bumper bolts
and the washers to the bracket.
- Install the bumper bolts and the washers to the brace.
- Align the bumper laterally to the grille area.
Tighten
Tighten the bumper to the bracket and the brace bolts to 112 N·m
(83 lb ft).
Front Bumper Replacement Luxury
Removal Procedure
- Remove the grille. Refer to

- Remove the fog lamp wire
connector (3).
- Remove the bumper to the
bracket (6) bolts and washers.
- Remove the bumper from
the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bumper to
the vehicle.
- Install the bumper bolts
and the washers to the bracket (6).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant

Removal Procedure
- Remove the brush/grille guard. Refer to

- Remove the grille. Refer to

- Disconnect and remove the fog lamp assemblies. Refer to
Front Fog Lamp Replacement
in
Lighting Systems.
- Remove the eight bumper
bolts securing the bumper to the frame.
- Remove the bumper bracket bolts and washers.
- Remove the bumper from
the vehicle.
- Remove the air deflector (8) from the bumper, if equipped.

Installation Procedure
- Install the fog lamp assemblies. Refer to
Front Fog Lamp Replacement
in
Lighting Systems.
- Install the air deflector to the bumper. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Install the bumper to
the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners

- Install the eight bumper
bolts securing the bumper to the frame.
- Install the bumper bolts and the washers to the brace.
- Align the bumper laterally to the grille area.
Tighten
Tighten the eight bumper bolts to 112 N·m (83 lb ft).
- Reconnect the fog lamp assemblies electrical connectors.
- Install the Grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Install the brush/grille guard. Refer to
Grille Guard/Brush Guard Replacement
.
Front Bumper Replacement Limited Tahoe
Removal Procedure
- Remove the grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement

- Disconnect the electrical
connectors from the fog lamp assemblies.
- Remove the fog lamp assemblies. Refer to
Front Fog Lamp Replacement
in
Lighting Systems.
- Remove the air deflector to the bumper. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the eight bumper
bolts securing the bumper to the frame.
Four bumper bolts on the top and four bumper bolts on the bottom of
the bumper assembly.
- Remove the bumper from
the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bumper to
the vehicle.
- Install the the eight
bumper bolts securing the bumper to the frame.

- Install the air deflector to the bumper. Refer to

- Install the grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
