Removal Procedure

Notice: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.

  1. Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector (1).
  2. Remove the two TP sensor hold down fasteners (3).
  3. Remove the TP sensor (2) from the throttle body.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the TP sensor (2) to the throttle body.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Attach the TP sensor with the two hold down fasteners (3).
  4. Adjust the TP sensor. Refer to Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment .
  5. After performing the TP sensor adjustment procedure, connect the TP sensor electrical connector (1).
  6. Tighten the two fasteners.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the TP sensor fasteners to 3.5 N·m (30 lb in).
