Removal Procedure
  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 838577 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rubber grommet in the door check link opening (1).
  5. Remove the 2 nuts (2) retaining the check link to the door.

    6. Object Number: 838583 Size: SH
  6. Remove the 2 fasteners (1) retaining the check link to the vehicle.
  7. Remove the check link.

Installation Procedure
  1. Place the check link in position in the door.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 838577 Size: SH
  2. Install the nuts (2) that retain the check link to the door.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (7 lb in).

  3. Replace the rubber grommet in the door check link opening (1).

    4. Object Number: 838583 Size: SH
  4. Install the fasteners (1) that retain the check link to the vehicle.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (7 lb in).

  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement.
  6. Install door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
