CH-47830 Holding Fixture

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

1. Remove the brake master cylinder and power brake booster assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement.
2. Install the CH-47830 to the master cylinder assembly.
3. Position the CH-47830 with the master cylinder assembly in a vise.
4. Remove the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement.
5. Remove the power brake booster. Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement.



6. Remove the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket bolt (1).



7. Remove the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket (1).



8. Remove the electronic brake and traction control module bolts (1).




Important: When removing the electronic brake and traction control module from the brake master cylinder, ensure the locating pin remains in the brake master cylinder body.

9. Remove the electronic brake and traction control module gasket (1) and module (2) from the brake master cylinder.

Discard the electronic brake and traction control module gasket.

Important: Ensure the locating pin is in the master cylinder body.

1. Install a new electronic brake and traction control module gasket (1) to the brake master cylinder.
2. Install the electronic brake and traction control module (2) to the brake master cylinder.



3. Loosely install the electronic brake and traction control module bolts (1) to properly locate the electronic brake and traction control module.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Tighten the electronic brake can traction control module bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).




5. Install the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket (1).



6. Install the fluid level sensor wiring harness bracket bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

7. Install the power brake booster. Refer to Power Brake Booster Replacement.
8. Install the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement.
9. Remove the brake master cylinder assembly from the CH-47830 .
10. Install the brake master cylinder and power brake booster assembly. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder with Power Brake Booster and Chassis Control Module Replacement.
11. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
12. Program the electronic brake and traction control module. Refer to Control Module References.
