Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement C105/Short Body

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

Important: Left - Hand Drive Shown, Right - Hand Drive Similar.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the instrument panel lower left trim. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
3. Remove the front, rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement .
4. Remove the radio . Refer to Radio Replacement .
5. Remove the headlamp leveling switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement .
6. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel.
7. Remove the automatic temperature controls assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .



8. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
9. Remove the kick panels.
10. Remove the storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .
11. Disconnect the instrument compartment electrical connectors.
12. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .



13. Remove the instrument panel side covers.
14. Remove the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .
15. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
16. Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .
17. Remove the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .



18. Remove the nuts and the bolts securing the steering column.
19. Disconnect the steering column electrical connector.
20. Lower the steering column.
21. Remove the A-pillar trim.



22. Remove the instrument panel bolts below the windshield.



23. Remove the screws (1) and the left lower instrument panel retaining bolt (2).



24. Remove the screws (1) securing the instrument panel center.



25. Remove the instrument panel left and right side screws (1) and bolt (2).



26. Remove the screws (1) near the instrument panel compartment.
27. Remove the air bag retaining bolts (2).
28. Remove the screw (5) near the blower motor.
29. Remove the right lower instrument panel retaining bolt (4).
30. Remove the nut (3) securing the instrument panel backside.



31. Lift up the instrument panel and remove the instrument panel to T-bar nuts.
32. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
33. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.

1. Position the instrument panel in the vehicle.
2. Connect the instrument panel electrical connectors.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Lift up the instrument panel and install the instrument panel to T-bar nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel to T-bar nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




4. Install the nut (3) securing the instrument panel backside.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel backside nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

5. Install the right lower instrument panel retaining bolt (4).

Tighten
Tighten the right lower instrument panel retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

6. Install the screw (5) near the blower motor and the screws (1) near the instrument panel compartment.

Tighten
Tighten the screws near the blower motor and the instrument panel compartment to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

7. Install the air bag retaining bolts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the air bag retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




8. Install the instrument panel left and right side screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the left and right side instrument panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

9. Install the instrument panel bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




10. Install the screws (1) securing the instrument panel center.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel center screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).




11. Install the instrument panel screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

12. Install the instrument panel retaining bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




13. Install the instrument panel bolts below the windshield.

Tighten
Tighten the instrument panel bolts below the windshield to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

14. Install the A-pillar trim.



15. Raise the steering column.
16. Connect the steering column electrical connector.
17. Install the bolts securing the steering column.

Tighten
Tighten the steering column bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

18. Install the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .
19. Install the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .
20. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .



21. Install the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .
22. Install the instrument panel side covers.



23. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
24. Install the instrument panel lower left trim. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
25. Connect the instrument compartment electrical connectors.
26. Install the storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .
27. Install the kick panels.
28. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
29. Install the automatic temperature controls assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
30. Install the instrument cluster trim panel.
31. Install the headlamp leveling switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement .
32. Install the radio . Refer to Radio Replacement .
33. Install the ambient light sensor . Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement
34. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement .
35. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement C100/Long Body

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the front, rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement .
3. Remove the headlamp leveling switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement .



4. Remove the left I/P vent. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side.
5. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement.
6. Remove the headlamp/turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement.
7. Remove the wiper switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement.
8. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement.
9. Remove the instrument panel lower compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Compartment Replacement.



10. Remove the radio . Refer to Radio Replacement.
11. Remove the ambient light sensor . Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement .
12. Remove the automatic temperature controls assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
13. Remove the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .
14. Remove the instrument storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement.
15. Remove the right I/P vent. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Right Side.



16. Remove the bolt caps and the securing bolts in both sides of the instrument panel below the windshield.



17. Remove the securing bolts and nut on the left and right sides of the instrument panel.



18. Remove the securing nut on the right side of the front console.



19. In order to get access into the bolts behind the I/P cluster, loosen the lower I/P from the upper I/P by removing the securing screws.



20. Pulling the lower I/P and remove the securing bolts behind the I/P cluster.



21. Remove the screws securing the I/P center vents.



22. Remove the securing nut behind the right I/P center vent.



23. Disconnect the guide pins from the dash panel by pulling the instrument panel assembly.
24. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.

1. Position the instrument panel in the vehicle, making sure the guide pins are fastened.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the securing nut behind the right I/P center vent.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




3. Install the I/P center vent screws.

Tighten
Tighten the I/P center vent screws to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




4. Pull back on the lower I/P and install the securing nuts behind the I/P cluster.

Tighten
Tighten the I/P nuts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




5. Install the screws connecting the upper I/P with the lower I/P.

Tighten
Tighten the I/P screws to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




6. Install the securing nut on the right side of the front console.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




7. Install the securing bolts and nut on the left and right sides of the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the nut and bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).




8. Install the securing bolts in both sides of the instrument panel below the windshield.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

9. Install the bolt caps.



10. Install the bolts securing the passenger air bag on the tie bar.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (7 lb ft).




11. Install the right instrument panel vent. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Right Side .
12. Install the instrument panel storage compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement .
13. Install the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement.
14. Install the ambient light sensor . Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement .
15. Install the automatic temperature controls assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
16. Install the radio . Refer to Radio Replacement .



17. Install the instrument panel lower compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Compartment Replacement.
18. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
19. Install the wiper switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement.
20. Install the headlamp/turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement.
21. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement.
22. Install the left I/P vent. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Replacement - Left Side.



23. Install the headlamp leveling switch assembly. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement .
24. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement .
25. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
