KM-470-B Angular Torque Gauge

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
3. Remove the camshaft gears. Refer to Camshaft Gear Replacement.
4. Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner bolt.
5. Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner.



6. Remove the timing belt idler pulley retaining bolt and nut.
7. Remove the timing belt idler pulleys.
8. Remove the engine mount adapter support bracket mounting bolts.
9. Remove the engine mount adapter support bracket.
10. Remove the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement.



11. Remove the crankshaft gear.
12. Remove the rear timing belt cover bolts.
13. Remove the rear timing belt cover.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the rear timing belt cover and tighten the bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).



2. Install the camshaft position sensor and tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).



3. Install the engine mount adapter support bracket and tighten bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
4. Install the timing belt idler pulleys and tighten the nut and bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).



5. Install the crankshaft timing belt drive gear and tighten the bolt to 135 N·m (100 lb ft) plus 30 degrees and plus 10 degrees using KM-470-B gauge .



6. Install the timing belt automatic tensioner and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).



7. Install the camshaft gears. Refer to Camshaft Gear Replacement.
8. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
