  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Check for engine control diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Is DTC P0461 set?

Go to DTC P0461

  1. Remove the instrument cluster.
  2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Measure the voltage at the instrument cluster connector terminal B14.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

11-14 V

Go to Step 4

Repair the open circuit between fuse F12 and the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Use an Ohmmeter to Measure the resistance between the ECM connector terminal 107 and instrument cluster connector terminal C1.

Is the resistance near the specified value?

0 ohms

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Repair the open circuit between the ECM and the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
