DW-110-060 Engine Support Fixture

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2009897  Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery and tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  2. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement.
  3. Remove the air filter housing.
  4. Remove the engine control module (ECM) bracket. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement.

  6. Disconnect the shift control cable from the transaxle.

  8. Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module (TCM) electrical connector.

  10. Remove the upper 2 transaxle-to-engine bolts.
  11. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.

  13. Install the DW-110-060 support fixture .
  14. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  15. Remove the engine under covers. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement.

  17. Remove the engine crossmember. Refer to Engine Front Crossmember Replacement.
  18. Remove the frame brace. Refer to Frame Brace Replacement.
  19. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement.

  21. Remove the front damper bush bracket.
  22. Remove the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.

  24. Remove the oil cooler line.

    Note: Diesel engine (6 torque converter bolts), gasoline engine (3 torque converter bolts).

  26. Remove the flywheel-to-torque converter bolts. For 2.0L Diesel, remove the bolts after removing the plastic cover.

  28. Remove the rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts.

  30. Support the transaxle assembly using the supporting jack.

  32. Remove the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts.

  34. Remove the left lower engine-to-transaxle bolts near the rear transaxle mounting bracket side.

  35. Object Number: 2009960  Size: SH
  36. Remove the right lower engine-to-transaxle bolts near the front damper bush bracket.

  37. Object Number: 2009946  Size: SH
  38. Remove the left transaxle mounting bracket bolts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side.

  39. Object Number: 2009956  Size: SH
  40. Carefully remove the transaxle from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2009956  Size: SH
  1. Install the transaxle into the vehicle and support the transaxle assembly using the supporting jack.

  2. Object Number: 2009946  Size: SH
  3. Install the left transaxle mounting bracket bolts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2009960  Size: SH
  5. Install the right lower engine-to-transaxle bolts near the front damper bush bracket and tighten to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  6. Object Number: 2009955  Size: SH
  7. Install the left lower engine-to-transaxle bolts near the rear transaxle mounting bracket side and tighten to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  8. Object Number: 2009957  Size: SH
  9. Install the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts.
  10. • For the 2.0L or the 2.5L engine, tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
    • For the 2.0L Diesel engine, tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  11. Install the rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts and tighten.
  12. • For the 2.0L or the 2.5L engine, tighten the rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).
    • For the 2.0L Diesel engine, tighten the rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  13. Install the 6 flywheel-to-torque converter bolts. For 2.0L Diesel, install the bolts and the plastic cover and tighten to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  15. Install the upper transaxle-to-engine bolts and tighten to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  17. Install the oil cooler line.
  18. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.

  19. Object Number: 2009952  Size: SH
  20. Install the front damper bush bracket bolts and the bracket and tighten to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).
  21. Install the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.

  23. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement.
  24. Install the frame brace. Refer to Frame Brace Replacement.
  25. Install the engine crossmember. Refer to Engine Front Crossmember Replacement.
  26. Install engine under covers. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement.

  28. Lower the vehicle.
  29. Remove the DW-110-060 support fixture from the engine.

  31. Connect the control valve body TCM electrical connector.

  32. Object Number: 2009892  Size: SH
  33. Install the shift control cable to the transaxle. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.
  34. Adjust the shift control cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.

  35. Object Number: 2009897  Size: SH
  36. Install the ECM bracket. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement.
  37. Install the air filter housing.
  38. Install the battery and tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  39. Add fluid to the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement.
  40. Check the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check.
  41. Note: Do not drive the vehicle before completing the reprogramming.

  42. Reprogram the TCM with the correct calibration.
  43. Note: After an internal transmission repair or internal part replacement the service fast learn adapt procedure should be performed.

  44. Perform the service fast learn adapt procedure. Refer to Service Fast Learn Adapts.
  45. Road test the vehicle. Refer to Road Test.
