Makes 🢒 Holden 🢒 2008 🢒 VE Ute 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, or 7.0L 🢒 Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the oil fill cap.

    2. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    3. Object Number: 1951033 Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil pan drain plug (1).
  4. Drain the engine oil into an appropriate container.
  5. Remove the engine oil filter (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1951033 Size: SH

    Important: Before installing the new oil filter, ensure that the old oil filter gasket has been removed. If not, remove the old gasket.

  1. Install the oil filter (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the filter to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  2. Install the oil pan drain plug (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Fill the engine with a suitable amount and type of engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .
  5. Check the oil level.
  6. Install the oil fill cap.
  7. Reset the service reminder display. Refer to Service Display Reminders .
