Theft Deterrent Module Replacement RHD
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
- Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
.
- Disconnect the theft deterrent module (TDM)
electrical connector (4).
Important: Rotate the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket
counter-clockwise to disengage the locking tangs and pull to detach the ignition
lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM.
- Detach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM (1).
- Remove the TDM to steering column assembly retaining screw (3).
- Remove the TDM (1) from the steering
column assembly (2).
Installation Procedure
Important: Make sure the locating pin on the steering
column assembly (2) is aligned with the TDM (1).
- Install the TDM (1) to the steering column assembly (2).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the TDM to steering column assembly retaining screw (3).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Important: Rotate the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket
clockwise to engage the locking tangs and attach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2)
to the TDM.
- Attach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) to the TDM (1).
- Connect the theft deterrent module (TDM) electrical connector (4).
- Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to
Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement
.
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
- Program the TDM. Refer to
Theft Deterrent Control Module Programming and Setup
.
