DTC Descriptor

DTC B2462 00: Global Positioning System Sensor Receiver Failure

DTC B2462 08: Global Positioning System Sensor Signal Invalid

Circuit Description

The navigation antenna is connected to the navigation module with a coax cable. The navigation module polls the data from the navigation antenna once every second.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition ON
    •  The system voltage is at least 9.5 volts and no more than 15.5 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • GPS antenna output above threshold.
    • General GPS receiver error during test.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The navigation module detects a proper signal from the GPS antenna.
    • A history DTC clears after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the GPS coaxial cable from the navigation module.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 4-5.5 volts between the center conductor and the shield of the coaxial cable.
  3. If not within the specified range, replace the navigation module.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the GPS antenna.
