The EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) is part of the printed circuit board housed within the radio display. It stores variables required for the operation of the entertainment system.
The radio display runs the program to detect an internal fault or compatibility concern when the radio changes from OFF to ON.
• | The radio display internal EEPROM has failed or is corrupt. |
• | An incompatible radio display is installed to the radio. |
• | The radio display that is installed is compatible but a different type of radio display from the current learned type. |
The system will set the DTC and not function.
The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
This DTC may be an indication that the radio display was installed in the vehicle, or that the radio display was replaced without reprogramming with the new information.
