Clutch Concentric Actuator Cylinder Replacement 3.6L Engine
Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the transmission assembly. Refer to
Transmission Replacement.
Important: If carrying out transmission removal procedure
remove flexible clip (1) and leave assembly attach to transmission.
- Detach the flexible hose securing clip (1).
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe bracket to transmission
retaining bolt (2).
- Release the bleeder assembly securing clip (4), by using a suitable screwdriver
and releasing it from the bleeder adapter.
- Remove the bleeder assembly (3).
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission
retaining bolts (3).
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining
bolt (2).
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder (1) from the front of the transmission
(4).
Installation Procedure
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder (1) to the
front of the transmission (4).
Important: The concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe
to transmission retaining bolt (2) must not to be fully tightened at this stage.
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining
bolt (2).
Do not fully tighten at this stage.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
- Tighten the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe to transmission retaining
bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the bleeder assembly (3).
- Install the bleeder assembly securing clip (4).
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe bracket to transmission
retaining bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the flexible hose securing clip, listen for an audible click to
confirm fitting.
- Install the transmission assembly. Refer to
Transmission Replacement.
- Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to
Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
- Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Road test vehicle for correct clutch and transmission operation.
Clutch Concentric Actuator Cylinder Replacement 6.0L Engine
Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- Remove transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
.
- Disconnect the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe (1) from the concentric
actuator cylinder (2) by using a suitable screwdriver to remove the wire clip,
take care not to loose clip when removed.
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).
- Remove the concentric actuator cylinder (2) from the front of the transmission.
Installation Procedure
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder (2) to the front of the transmission.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder to transmission retaining bolts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Notice: Refer to General Repair Instructions in the Preface section.
- Install the concentric actuator cylinder feed pipe (1) to the concentric actuator
cylinder (2).
- Install transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
.
- Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Refer to
Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding
.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
- Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Road test vehicle for correct clutch and transmission operation.
