Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement 4.2L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 687441  Size: SH
  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the power steering hose assembly from the power steering cooler.

  3. Object Number: 687448  Size: SH
  4. Remove the power steering cooler mounting bolts.

  5. Object Number: 687449  Size: SH
  6. Remove the power steering cooler from the radiator support.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 687449  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 687448  Size: SH
  3. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering cooler mounting bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering hoses assembly to the power steering cooler.
  6. Remove drain pan from under the vehicle.

Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement Except 4.2L

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Place drain pan under vehicle.
  3. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 687441  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the power steering cooler hoses from the power steering cooler.

  6. Object Number: 687448  Size: SH
  7. Remove the power steering cooler mounting bolts.

  8. Object Number: 687449  Size: SH
  9. Remove the power steering cooler from the radiator support.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 687449  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 687448  Size: SH
  3. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering cooler mounting to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).


    Object Number: 687441  Size: SH
  5. Connect the power steering cooler hoses to the power steering cooler.
  6. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
