Rear Number 1 Seat Back Release Latch Replacement TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Rear Seat Head Restraint Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 893514  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 2 screws securing the seat back release latch handle to the seat back.
  4. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 893519  Size: SH
  6. Remove the clips (2) securing the seat back release latch cable to the seat back frame.
  7. Remove the cable from the slot in the cam (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 893519  Size: SH
  1. Install the clips securing the seat back release latch cable to the seat back frame.
  2. Install the cable end into the cam (1).
  3. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the seat back release latch handle to the seat back with 2 screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back release latch handle screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 753536  Size: SH
  3. Remove the release latch by pinching the lower locking tabs together.

  4. Object Number: 753552  Size: SH
  5. Remove the release cable from the release latch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 753552  Size: SH
  1. Install the release cable to the release latch.

  2. Object Number: 753536  Size: SH
  3. Install the release latch to the seat frame by pressing the latch into the seat frame until the locking tabs are fully engaged.
  4. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .
