Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  2. Remove the 3 shifter cable bracket bolts and the shift cable bracket with the shift cable from the rear engine mount and the clutch housing. Position the bracket and cable for access.
  3. Loosen the 2 exhaust clamp bolts.
  4. Remove the 2 exhaust bracket bolts from the clutch housing.
  5. Reposition the exhaust bracket for access.
  6. Remove the remaining bolts that secure the clutch housing to the engine flywheel. Note the position for installation.
  7. Remove the clutch housing while retaining both of the locating pins for installation.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the 2 retaining pins.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the clutch housing bolts that secure the clutch housing to the engine.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Reposition the exhaust bracket to the clutch housing and install the 3 bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  7. Tighten the exhaust clamp nuts.
  8. Reposition the shift cable bracket to the rear engine mount and the clutch housing and install 3 bolts.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolts and clutch housing to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bolt at the rear engine mount to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
  10. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
