J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Tilt the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
  2. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  3. Object Number: 1005121  Size: SH
  4. Remove the condenser inlet hose bolt (3) from the condenser.
  5. Remove the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .
  6. Remove the condenser fan. Refer to Condenser Fan Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 1013263  Size: SH
  8. Remove the condenser mounting bolt (1).

  9. Object Number: 1004917  Size: SH
  10. Remove the condenser mounting bolts (1).
  11. Remove the condenser from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. If replacing the condenser add refrigerant oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Install new O-rings. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  3. Install the condenser into the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the lower condenser mounting bolts (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1013263  Size: SH
  7. Install the condenser mounting bolt (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  9. Install the condenser fan. Refer to Condenser Fan Replacement .
  10. Install the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 1005121  Size: SH
  12. Install the condenser inlet hose bolt (3) to the condenser.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  15. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled components using the J 39400-A .
  16. Lower the cab. Refer to Cab Tilting .
