Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the assist handle bolts.

  2. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  3. Remove the assist handle.

  4. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  5. Remove the instrument panel right lower trim.
  6. Remove the air distributor lower duct. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement
  7. Disconnect the air temperature actuator electrical connectors.

  8. Object Number: 229948  Size: SH
  9. Remove the air temperature actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 229948  Size: SH
  1. Install the air temperature actuator.
  2. Connect the air temperature actuator electrical connectors.
  3. Install the air distributor lower duct. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  5. Install the instrument panel right lower trim.

  6. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  7. Install the assist handle.
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the assist handle bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
