Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 3438 Size: SH
  1. Install the upper intake manifold gasket.

  2. Object Number: 1955 Size: SH
  3. Install the EGR injector.

  4. Object Number: 3439 Size: SH

  8. Tighten
Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft) in sequence.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve pipe.
  10. Connect the vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
  11. Install the electrical wiring harness to the upper intake manifold stud/nuts.
  12. Install the retaining nuts.
  13. Install electrical connections for the following components:
  14. • Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor
    • Idle Air Control (IAC) valve
    • Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
  15. Install the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor.

  16. Object Number: 1953 Size: SH
  17. Install the throttle cable mounting bracket to the throttle body.
  18. Tighten
Tighten the throttle cable mounting bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  19. Install the A/C line to the evaporator housing. Refer to Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  20. Charge the A/C system. Refer to Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  21. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  22. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
