Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 4548  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  2. Remove the oil pump bolt and the oil pump.
  3. Remove the oil pump drive shaft and the retainer.

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the retainer and the oil pump hex drive for cracks. Replace if necessary.

  2. Object Number: 4548  Size: SH
  3. Install the oil pump to the engine.
  4. Important: The oil pump should slide into place. Do not force the oil pump. Damage to the retainer or the oil pump hex drive could occur.

  5. Install the oil pump attaching bolt to the rear crankshaft bearing cap.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump bolt to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
