Action

An emergency jump start is required.

Go to Jump Starting in Case of Emergency

Battery protection is required for vehicle storage.

Go to Battery Protection During Vehicle Storage

Only a battery charge is needed.

Go to Battery Charging

The 2.2L Engine will not start but the engine cranks well.

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls -- 2.2L

The 4.3L Engine will not start but the engine cranks well.

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls -- 4.3L

The 2.2L Engine does start but does not operate well.

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls -- 2.2L

The 4.3L Engine does start but does not operate well.

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Engine Controls -- 4.3L

The Battery does not take a charge.

Go to Battery Load Test

The Battery does not hold its charge long enough.

Go to Battery Electrical Drain/Parasitic Load Test

One vehicle electrical system (e.g. headlamps, radio, blower motor) does not operate. However, all other systems do operate.

Perform the diagnostic system check or applicable symptom diagnostic table for that system as included in SECTION 8A.
