DEFINITION: The automatic transmission's gear
selection (PRNDL) indicating light does not illuminate with the Ignition Switch
in the Run position. However, the Voltmeter on the Instrument Cluster does
indicate battery voltage.

- Remove TRANS Fuse 24 from the I/P Fuse Block.
- Connect a test lamp between I/P Fuse Block Cavity M2 for the WHT
(1390) wire and ground.
- Place the Ignition Switch in the Run position.
- Observe the test lamp.
- Place the Ignition Switch in the Off position.
Did the test lamp light?

- Disconnect In-Line Connector C211 at the steering column.
- Connect a self-powered test lamp between In-Line Connector C211
Cavity D5 for the RED (1442) wire and Cavity C1 for the WHT (1390) wire.
- Place the Ignition Switch in the Run position.
- Observe the test lamp.
- Place the Ignition Switch in the Off position.
Did the test lamp light?

- Replace the Ignition Switch.
- Install TRANS Fuse 24 in the I/P Fuse Block.
