Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left side of the instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  3. Disable the SRS. Refer to Disabling the SRS in SRS.
  4. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  5. Remove the nuts that retain the knee deflector to the upper steering column bracket.

  6. Object Number: 303365  Size: SH
  7. Remove the knee deflector from the studs.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 303365  Size: SH
  1. Install the knee deflector to the studs.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts that retain the knee deflector to the steering column support.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  6. Enable the SRS. Refer to Disabling the SRS in SRS.
  7. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  8. Install the left side of the instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
