Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  3. Remove the engine cooling fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  4. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Remove the fan pulley.
  6. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  7. Remove the A/C compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems with A/C - Manual.
  8. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  9. Remove the water outlet. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  10. Remove the bolts holding the accessory mounting bracket to the engine.
  11. Remove the accessory mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 175516 Size: SH
  1. Install the accessory mounting bracket.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the bolts holding the accessory mounting bracket to the engine.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the accessory mounting bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the water outlet. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  4. Install the A/C compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems with A/C - Manual.
  5. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  6. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  7. Install the fan pulley.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the fan pulley bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  8. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Install the engine cooling fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  10. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  11. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
