Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the front filler panel.
  3. Pull the retainers outward.

  4. Remove the hood primary and secondary latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  6. Object Number: 276919  Size: SH
  7. Remove the hood latch support nuts (2).
  8. Remove the hood latch support bolts (1).
  9. Remove the hood latch support (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hood latch support (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hood latch support bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the hood latch support nuts (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the hood primary and secondary latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
  8. Install the front filler panel.
  9. Ensure the unit is retained.

  10. Close the hood.
